Product Care

Best practice for any piece of furniture takes a general precaution towards unusual environments. As such, we recommend avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, heat or humidity to prevent fading and cracking. Surfaces should be covered when possible to prevent obvious damage. Use coasters and mats under glasses and hot dishes. Please be aware that heavily dyed fabric, like dark wash denim, can transfer to your furniture and cause discoloration.

Why is my furniture uneven?

If your furniture appears to be uneven, check that your floor is level. Many pieces have adjustable bases to accommodate this.

Cushions may appear creased when removed from packaging upon arrival. When air begins to circulate, they will return to their original form. Fluff cushions weekly to keep them full and rotate regularly if possible.

To care for your teak products, regularly clean them with mild soapy water and a soft brush, rinsing thoroughly and allowing them to dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals or pressure washers, as these can strip the wood’s natural oils. If you prefer to maintain teak’s golden color, apply teak oil every 3-6 months after a thorough cleaning, though this is optional as teak naturally weathers to a silver-gray patina. Protect your furniture from extreme weather by using breathable covers or storing it indoors, and handle spills promptly to prevent staining. For tougher stains or rough areas, lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper. Annually, clean and inspect your teak furniture, tightening any loose joints or screws. Avoid contact with metal objects that could cause rust stains, and ensure the furniture is dry before storing it during the off-season to prevent mold or mildew. Regular maintenance will keep your teak looking beautiful and ensure its longevity.

To care for wood products, regularly dust with a soft cloth and clean with a mild soap solution when needed, drying immediately to avoid moisture damage. Protect wood from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Apply wood polish or wax every few months to maintain the finish, and handle spills promptly to prevent stains. Use coasters to protect the surface, and periodically check for scratches or wear, touching up as needed. For long-term care, store or cover wood products when not in use to preserve their beauty and durability.

The paper cord seating is lightly waxed to prevent general discoloration and resistance; however, it is not fully invincible to stains, particularly of wine and oil. Unfortunately, there is no specific cleaning product available on the market for paper cord material. Our recommendation, in the event of a spill, is to clean immediately using a damp white cloth to wipe off the stain as best as possible. Never use harsh soaps or cleaning liquids as they can damage the material. You may consider using plain soap flakes dissolved in water as a simple cleaning solution.

Regular Care
Use a soft brush to gently clean and wash regularly with a combination of one part neutral detergent and five parts cold water. Pat dry furniture after cleaning and then allow to fully dry for 2-3 hours before covering. Avoid exposing furniture to extreme heat or extreme cold temperatures. Do not machine wash, machine dry or dry clean furniture.

Stains
If stains or spots appear, you may wash with bleach and spot test in a discrete area first before applying to the entire piece.
